About Us

We all have our opinions, ideas and thoughts. These ancillary thoughts are sometimes shared, beer–in-hand, amongst friends but are often forgotten and buried in the blizzard of everyday life.

Surplus Thoughts (ST) Blogazine is a celebration of thought and a mausoleum to ideas that may have otherwise gone unsaid. While opinions are like a$$holes and sometimes buoyant thoughts are better left tethered, our intentions are harmless and our goal is simple: good times.

For some of our authors, ST is a sanctuary to crap thoughts on paper, for others it is a place for product reviews, yet others, we’re not quite sure. It is intended to stimulate the mind with anecdotes about societal gaps, comments on books, movies, comics, politics and more.

We authors at ST will do our best to bring our regulars and the wondering-eye the latest in everything and nothing.

Brief History

Surplus Thoughts Blogazine launched mid-February, 2008. It is the brainchild of a number of young adults living and working in and around Orlando, Florida. With collegiate friends abound, often guests Bloggers reside elsewhere in the United States.

The Greatest Story of 2008: Even Chubby Would Be Proud

Knowing that people out there still love and appreciate “Teen Wolf” brings great joy to my heart, similar to the way Boof made me feel all warm and fuzzy on the inside. And so we have the story of the former Greg White - now Stylez G. White.

Mr. White is a defensive end for the NFL’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers who decided to honor “Wolf Fever” by officially changing his name to Stylez G. White. So it’s not EXACTLY the same way that “Stiles” spelled it in the movie, but close enough. After all, the original Stiles was the inspiration behind the legal name change for Mr. White. In particular, the classic performance of “Win In The End” that plays during the final championship basketball game scene most likely won him over.

Stylez G. White, I salute thee. If I was Scotty, I would tear open a beer with my wolf chompers in your honor. Thank you for passing on the love of an 80’s pop culture legend to a new generation. I know Chubby would be proud.
